Kildare school gets green light for new 82-space car park

Kildare County Council has granted planning permission to a local secondary school for a 82-page car park.
The development will take place at Patrician Secondary School in Newbridge.
Planners approved the redevelopment of the existing car park and adjoining area to provide for 82 car parking spaces.
50 of the spaces will be permanent spaces, including four disabled spaces, and will be used in the long term to provide for those using the sports facilities.
32 of the spaces will be temporary spaces for a four year period which will help provide for temporary parking for the school while redevelopment at the school is completed.
The new car park, which will use the existing access off College Park Road, also includes 30 bicycle parking spaces.
The grassed areas will be reinstated once permission for the temporary parking spaces expires.
The project also includes fencing, hardstanding and public lighting.
