KILDARE: Speeding restrictions are needed in housing estate

Survey is to be carried out to assess the problem
There has been a call for Kildare County Council to install speeding restrictions on the main avenue through the River Forest residential area in Leixlip. It came from Cllr Bernard Caldwell.
KCC is to carry out a new seven-day traffic survey on the road to determine if further traffic calming measures are necessary.
The council pointed out that there are three vertical deflection ramps, repeater speed limit signs and statutory school and children at play warning signs on the main road through the estate.
And a vehicle speed driver feedback sign has been installed.
