Late actor John Hurt being mourned by friends in Co Kildare

Late actor John Hurt lived in Ballintubbert House near Athy in the 1990s.
The Oscar-nominated actor died aged 77 at the weekend following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Hurt, who lived in Ballintubbert House with his then wife Joe and young sons, was a regular visitor to Athy during his time in Co Kildare.
He was photographed in the property for Hello! magazine by veteran local photographer Robert Redmond.
Robert said on his Facebook page: "John would do his shopping in Athy.
"He loved Ireland and Athy and was a lovely person to know.
"Rest in peace John you have left a great legacy."
The stage and screen icon is best remembered for roles in The Elephant Man, Midnight Express and Alien.
He later won a new audience as wand merchant Mr Ollivander in the Harry Potter series.
Ballintubbert House is also a former home of poet Cecil Day Lewis, the father of Oscar-winning actor Daniel Day Lewis.
Situated near Stradbally, it has one of the largest public gardens in the country and is a popular venue for weddings and movies.
