LATEST: Green light for first phase of major housing project in Newbridge
Kildare Co Council grants permission
Kildare County Council has granted planning permission for Phase 1 of a 2 Phase residential development for some 126 dwellings in Newbridge.
Phase 1 will consist of the construction of 40 residential dwellings and a creche at Old Connell, off the Naas Road.
The plans include vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist access from the Naas Road.
New segregated cycle lanes will be installed on either side of the Naas Road.
A bus stop will be relocated at the northern section of the Naas Road and upgraded bus stop at the southern section.
Also approved are 62 surface resident car parking spaces as well as bicycle storage for apartments.
The two storey creche will have an associated play area and parking.
There will also be 0.57 ha of public open space including a proposed central square as well as linear parkways as well as outdoor play areas and landscaped planting;
