O'Brien Fine Foods have announced the capture of a Meath meat supplier in a deal that is worth up to €5 million.

The Kildare-based company have agreed to acquire Faughan Foods and are in the final stages of the purchase of the company that employs more than 80 people and supplies meat such as turkey, chicken and beef to retailers all over Ireland and the UK.

The takeover is a big feather in the cap for the company that sponsors Kildare GAA as they may have a route into supplying a larger variety of supermarkets by getting the contracts of the company that they have purchased.

Faughan Foods are supplied fresh turkey by Hogan's Farm, and they will continue to supply them as part of the deal.

The purchase of the company comes on the back of the opening of their new offices in late 2016 at their factory in Timahoe, Kildare.
