BAIL AGREED

Gardaí present in Naas District Court on Thursday, June 6 last alleged that a man living outside of County Kildare stole his ex-partner's vehicle.

The accusation was detailed by gardaí to Judge Desmond Zaidan during an in-camera (in private) court session.

Defending barrister Donncha Craddock told the judge that bail conditions had been agreed upon between gardaí and his client.

Judge Zaidan was told that directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) were not yet ready in the case, and that the man's ex-partner resides in County Kildare.

The judge was also told that the alleged offence was in breach of a domestic violence protection order which was granted to the man's ex-partner against him.

Bail was granted for the defendant, under two conditions: he must comply with the order, and he must stay out of the entirety of County Kildare (which is where his ex-partner resides), except for court appearances.

Judge Zaidan adjourned the case to a date in October to allow time for DPP directions.

He also gave gardaí liberty to re-enter the case on short notice.
