Man faces serious accusations relating to sexual abuse and assault in Kildare court
REPORTING RESTRICTIONS
Allegations of sexual abuse, coercive control, child neglect and assault causing harm were levelled against a defendant in Naas District Court on Thursday, March 2.
The man, who cannot be identified at present due to reporting restrictions imposed by Judge Desmond Zaidan in order to protect the anonymity of his ex-partner and children, was accused of committing the offences over a number of dates between 2000 and 2021 in counties Kildare and Dublin.
He appeared via video-link in court, as he was remanded into custody.
Judge Zaidan continued to remand the accused into custody until March 16, which is when directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions are due.
A book of evidence is also due to be furnished on this date.
