When charged by a garda the man made no reply

A man is facing allegations of breaching a protection order at his home address as well as assault at the same location in County Kildare.

The defendant, aged in his 20s, appeared before Naas District Court.

He is being charged with assault as well as three counts of breaching a protection order on dates this year - in January and February this year.

Detective Garda Christine Brady told the court that when he was charged on May 6, the defendant made no reply.

The garda said there was no objection to bail on condition that the defendant had no contact with his mother and is not to attend at a named address in County Kildare.

Judge Desmond Zaidan adjourned the matter to October 21.
