Man says his ex-partner is threatening him with the gardaí over child

Allegation
A man told Naas District Court his ex-partner has threatened him with the gardaí.
The man alleged before the court that the woman had a protection order against him and this is being used to interfere with access to his child.
He said he has to bring the child back by a certain time and if this does not happen she will threaten to contact the gardaí.
Solicitor Brian Larkin said the man “doesn’t know where else to turn.”
The woman was not present or represented for the brief hearing.
Judge Desmnd Zaidan said that strictly speaking the case did not warrant the granting of an interim protection order because a risk of substantial harm had not been demonstrated.
Nevertheless he said he would err on the side of caution and grant the order, which is temporary in nature and subject to a fuller court hearing.
