The councillor who submitted the motion also urged Kildare County Council to install double yellow lines and signs in one Monasterevin estate

Markings are being sought for speed ramps located in two separate (but nearby) County Kildare regions.

The subject was raised by Fine Gael councillor Kevin Duffy at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District (MD) meeting, which took place on Wednesday, June 18 last.

At the meeting, he requested Kildare County Council (KCC) to mark "the existing speed ramps outside the Church, Kildangan and in Mill Stream Avenue Estate, Monasterevin".

Cllr Duffy said that he was seeking these markings in order to make the speed ramps more visible to drivers and to improve safety.

His motion was seconded by his party colleague, Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer.

In response to his motion, KCC told Cllr Duffy: "The MD Office agrees to meet Cllr Duffy to discuss this

issue on site and to agree a solution subject to [the] available budget."

Cllr Duffy told KCC that he accepted this response.

SIMILAR MOTION

Cllr Duffy also submitted another roads-related motion, one which concerned to the installation of double yellow lines and signage in one area within the MD.

Specifically, he motioned for KCC to install double yellow lines and signs at the entrance to Drogheda

Street Crescent Estate, Monasterevin, in order to "prevent parking during school hours blocking the entrance to this estate".

This motion was seconded by Sinn Féin Cllr Noel Connolly.

KCC issued a similar reply to this motion: "The MD Engineer agrees to include this request on the line

marking schedule, subject to [the] budget."
