Mona Conroy receives Lifetime Achievement Award from Naas Musical Society

Well known Naas woman, Mona Conroy founded Naas Musical Society back in 1995 alongside Mary Fox and has been involved to this very day.

In recognition of her exceptional dedication, talent, and long-standing service in the field of Musical Theatre, the Society decided it would be an honour to award Mona with the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.

A statement by the Society said:

Mona's unwavering commitment to the arts in Kildare and the community have left a mark on the hearts and minds of not only the audiences, but the people involved throughout the years.

Mona's dedication to the craft of musical theatre extends beyond her own performances. She has shared her knowledge, expertise, and passion with aspiring artists, nurturing their talents, and inspiring them to reach new heights. Her mentorship and guidance have played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of musical theatre performers. Mona is so proud to have started the careers of some of Irelands most well-known starts including International Soprano Celine Byrne, West End Star Sharon Sexton, Soprano Norah King, Tenor Rory Dunne, Soprano Paul Lenihan, just to name a few. The society are so proud of each one of these super stars and are always so happy to see them back supporting our shows every year.

A special mention to Mona for taking on 13 small children in the concert this year who were later known as “Monas Mini’s”. They were all so honoured to be taught and mentored by Mona and will have treasured memories forever.

Her long-standing service to Naas Musical Society has not only enriched the lives of countless individuals but has also contributed to the cultural fabric of our community of Naas and surrounding towns. Her tireless efforts, commitment, and artistic excellence have elevated the standards of Musical theatre and have set a shining example for others to follow.

Monas Passion for musical theatre is evident in every production she has been involved in. As the saying goes “THERE IS NO SHOW LIKE A MONA SHOW”.
