U/16 Open Champion- Eireann Rowley
U/16 Modern Set Champion- Katie Byrne
Months of hard work go on behind the scenes ahead of these Championships all for less than two minutes on stage in front of the judges.
Dance teacher Michelle Morrissey said, “The pressure is really on for the dancers to showcase what they have all worked so hard for, there are no second chances on stage.
“We go to these competitions hoping that all our dancers, get through their dances fault free, try their best and most importantly have fun and make memories to last. We are so beyond proud of all our dancers. “Just to get up on stage, they are already winners in our eyes.”
According to to all at the Morrissey school, as amazing as they are on stage, when they are off stage with their friends from the Morrissey School and other schools from different parts of the world, this is where these competitors truly shine. Their friendships, kindness and support of each other is what the spirit of Irish Dancing is all about.
