How Network Ireland Kildare is Changing the Game for Women in Business

By Orla Dempsey, PRO for Network Kildare

Networking is becoming more and more important for women in business. It helps them share ideas, find support, and grow their careers or companies. Network Ireland Kildare is a group where women help each other grow their businesses and careers by making friends, learning new things, and sharing their skills. They work together to make a difference in their communities and show how important women are in making big decisions.

Members come from Athy, Clane, Celbridge, Maynooth, Naas and the Kildare town area and further afield and the Kildare Network offers a variety of supports from online networking, face-to-face events, connecting with other Network Ireland branches and at each monthly event there is an exciting, welcoming atmosphere.

Membership has been growing year on year and members join for confidence building, business development, support, new ideas and more. Here are some of the experiences of the members:

Community Spirit

When I first started my business, I relied on social media only to spread the word about my services. As I was working from home, I quickly realised that I needed to get out and meet other people, to talk to and learn from. Network Ireland offered me a safe space to find the words I needed to effectively market my business. The members there became my clients,  my business ambassadors and my friends. Each event has some learning moment and now it brings me great joy to be able to organise events that help my fellow members learn just as I do.

Personal and Professional Development

“One memorable event for me was the Wellness Event last year where members taught yoga, positive mindset and reflexology. It was a day of connections - for members to connect with one another and their bodies. Fabulous opportunity to learn from one another and support ourselves”.

New Opportunities

Network Ireland Kildare has offered endless opportunities and amazing support as I started my business. It’s helped grow my brand and build real connections. It’s a vibrant space where driven women share, support, and grow—professionally and personally.

Supporting New Businesses

Network Ireland Kildare was the first network I joined when I started my business. As an HR consultant, I've gained incredible connections, support, and the courage to grow my business. I find the inspiring women and collaborative atmosphere empowering. I highly recommend this network to any woman seeking support and true allies in business.

Collaborations

I stepped out of my comfort zone in 2022 and went to my first Network event. I remember feeling extremely welcomed and comfortable. Being part of the Network has boosted my confidence and expanded my connections, which has been extremely helpful as there is always someone to collaborate with as you grow your business (and even friendships too!). Every member is passionate about whatever they do, so whether you need a mentor, a photographer, an accountant, or a shoulder to cry on, you know you will find the best quality of expertise, commitment, and professionalism in the room, all you need to do is ask! Alone you can do so much, but together we are unstoppable!

Celebrating Successes

It was an honour to represent Kildare at the national awards last year. The annual Businesswoman of the Year awards are an important part of the network. It is an opportunity to reflect on, and celebrate business growth- what has been achieved and goals that are being set.

Thinking of joining?

One of the big advantages of Network Ireland is being able to connect with members around the country. There are 17 branches, including a virtual branch, and members can attend events in all other branches.
