New album by The Druids is inspired by Kildare

The Co Kildare-based Druids, the acclaimed winners of the Irish Music Awards, are excited to announce their inaugural tour of Australia! This highly anticipated tour will include stops in Canberra, Melbourne, Darwin, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth.

The Druids have just released a new album titled “Live in Kildare,” featuring a vibrant live set, including the re-recorded track “Starry Plough,” originally written by Mick O’Brien in 2010 and covered by many artists over the years.

The album captures the essence of their live performances and is available on Spotify and other platforms.

Formed in 2008 with humble beginnings playing in small local bars, The Druids have surpassed all expectations to become a well-known international act.

Their first U.S. tour in 2011 marked the beginning of a remarkable journey, during which they have firmly established their presence in the States, earning numerous awards and becoming regulars on Irish radio and television.

Recently, the band made waves with an appearance on Good Morning America, reaching an audience of 128 million viewers.

Frontman Mick O’Brien shared, “It’s amazing where a few ballads have taken us. We’re very much looking forward to playing for the thousands of Irish who have emigrated to Oz.”

When asked about their success, singer Gary Lawlor remarked, “We work as hard off stage as we do on. We don’t have a manager or a record label; we do everything ourselves.” This strong work ethic is evident in the countless hours the band dedicates to their craft.

Looking ahead, The Druids will return to the U.S. in March 2025 for a tour with 22 dates across the country. They will also make their first trip to Dubai in April 2025, along with tours in Scotland, England, Germany, Holland, and a dedicated Irish tour.
