New micro brewery planned for Co Kildare village

A bar and restaurant in Sallins wants to covert part of its premises into a small brewery.

Kildare Co Council has been asked to consider a planning application for the development in the Lock 13 section of Flanagan's Mill.

The plans are being made by Castlewood Taverns Ltd which owns the business.

The premises intended to become the micro brewery is currently used for kitchen, storage, office and and as a take-away.

The planning notice said the development involves "a small Brew House for the brewing of own beer on site."

It added: "The project will have a low carbon footprint as the vast majority of ingredients will be sourced locally."
