'People armed with hammers and hatchets turned up at home'

People armed with hammers and hatchets turned up at a man’s home, it was claimed at Naas District Court.
He applied for protection under family law legislation from his former partner.
He said he is being constantly harassed on social media and “her family wrought people with hammers and hatchets.”
The partner did not appear for the hearing and was not legally represented.
He also claimed that a complaint was made about his partner to Tusla, the Child and Family Agency.
The court was told the children are in his care and he is their primary carer.
The man also said he had been put in fear and at one stage his ex-partner said she would harm herself and blame him.
He stated that he lives with his mother and fears that people will come to that address.
The children have lived with him since the couple broke up earlier this year.
Solicitor Brian Larkin said that engagement by the man’s partner is “quite sporadic.”
The court granted an interim protection order. He directed that the woman have no contact with him excerpt in relation to the children.
The case was adjourned.
