Thousands of people had fun and frolics at Naas Racecourse for the Paddy Power Cheltenham Trial Day at the weekend.

Outsider Fergiethelegend won the Kildare Post / KildareNow Handicap Steeplechase thanks to a stunning performance in which he left the entire field of seven in his wake.

The winner was trained by Maynooth-based trainer John Carr who saw success in the prestigious Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham in 2007 with Sublimity.

The race was sponsored by Co Kildare's leading newspaper The Kildare Post along with associated breaking news website KildareNow.com which continued their generous support for Naas Races and the wider racing industry in Co Kildare.

The presentation on Sunday was made by Anna Fortune, Commercial Manager of Kildare Post and KildareNow and Senan Hogan, Content Manager of KildareNow to owner John Farrell and trainer John Carr.

The Kildare Post has a weekly circulation of 10,000 copies across Co Kildare every week while KildareNow currently achieves more than 1 million page views every month and has in excess of 20,000 Facebook friends.
