Gardaí have urged caution following a drink-driving incident that took place in North Kildare.
The appeal was made by the official Garda Traffic account on X / Twitter.
The account shared the following post, alongside a photograph showing a smashed-up car: "This driver in Kilcock was lucky to escape uninjured after crashing their car while driving over the legal limit for alcohol consumption.
"Their luck quickly ran out when they were arrested at the scene.
"They will now appear before the courts for drunken and dangerous driving."
The account added in a follow-up post: "Remember, it takes about one hour for each unit of alcohol to pass through the average person’s system.
"One unit is equal to half a pint of beer, a small measure of spirits or a small glass of wine.
"Stay safe and leave the car at home when drinking on a night out," the account concluded.
