Kildare man Peter Burton of Naas is the very lucky winner of a 172 Jaguar XE at the Finale event for Applegreen and Jaguar’s ‘Fuel Your Staycation’ campaign.
Peter was presented with the luxury prize worth nearly €50,000 by by Irish soccer legend Packie Bonner and representatives of the fuel station operators.
Peter and his wife Susan were one of six finalists chosen over the course of the six-week competition. Surrounded by family and friends, Peter was on site today to choose the lucky key at Applegreen Lusk M1 South, and drove off in a new Jaguar XE.
Everyone was a winner on the day with all six finalists filling up on free Applegreen fuel for a year along with a Jaguar driving experience.
Ireland’s most decorated goalkeeper, Packie Bonner, was on hand to present Peter with the keys to his new motor. Packie has been at the centre of some super saves in the green jersey and knows exactly what it takes to go the distance and was the perfect legend to showcase Applegreen and Jaguar’s high performance, high efficiency and high quality throughout the competition.
Commenting at the finale, Goalkeeping legend and Applegreen Ambassador, Packie Bonner said, “I am delighted to have been brought on board as ambassador for this competition from start to finish, hearing of the winners each week and being able to hand Peter the keys to this wonderful Jaguar here today. I’m certainly a little jealous of the comfort and style of their car journeys from now on.”

Peter Burton, competition winner said, ‘’I’m still lost for words that I am going to have a new Jaguar in my driveway, and don’t have to pay for fuel for a full year, thanks to Applegreen and Jaguar.
"Applegreen is always my pick when I need to fuel up, so getting the reward of a new car out of it, as well as the money I always save, is such a bonus. I’ll have to plan my staycation now and just might have to bring Packie along as he’s expert on saving!’’
