Kildare County Council said that it is currently completing tender assessments

Road improvement works are due to commence in one County Kildare region.

Kildare County Council (KCC) confirmed the progression of the works at the latest Athy Municipal District meeting, which took place on Monday, April 20 last.

The works were initially raised by Labour Party councillor Mark Leigh, who submitted the following question to KCC: "Can KCC confirm when the road improvement works on Bolton Hill will commence?"

KCC replied to this query via the report it presented at the meeting: "This work has been tendered, and we are currently completing tender assessments; once contracts are awarded, we would anticipate this work to commence by the end of May subject to programme agreement with the successful contractor."

Immediately after Cllr Leigh was provided with the report, a representative for KCC who was also in attendance at the meeting informed Cllr Leigh that a contractor has since been appointed for the project.placeholder image
