The Safer Roads exhibition which is taking place at the event centre in Punchestown this Sunday  is shaping up to be an even bigger and better event than anticipated. With over thirty exhibitors and dozens of demonstrators form all sectors of road safety and the transport industry, this one day exhibition is also receiving interest and attendance registrations from people from other counties in the east, midland and southern regions (Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wicklow, Wexford, Dublin and Meath).

The event is geared to make the roads safer for everyone, targeting road users of every type, age and background. Among some of the demonstrations will be a safe guide on the correct weight for drawing trailers provided by West Wood trailers while Mothercare will demonstrate the correct child car seat appropriate to your child and SpecSavers are to provide free eye sight and hearing checks for adult and older drivers.

Drivers of agricultural and commercial vehicles, older drivers, Young Male Drivers (YMD) and modified and racing car enthusiasts are also catered for at the ‘Safer Roads’ exhibition which is being coordinated by Kildare County Council’s road safety officer Declan Keogh and supported by An Garda Síochána and the Road Safety Authority.

Mr Keogh said “It is important that people are shown the reasons why a collision occurs, how it is caused and what to do to avoid being in a collision or indeed causing one and by running this event we are helping to do just that plus much more and it is terrific to have all these people and bodies involved in this ‘Safer Roads’ exhibition”.
