Ahead of Christmas, Santa Claus is trading the North Pole for County Kildare, making six stops to spread the holiday cheer, all in aid of an incredible cause.

In support of LauraLynn Children's Hospice, Santa and his elves will travel the country in a magical truck, where he will visit key locations around Kildare, and beyond, hoping to raise much needed funds for this vital service.

With the festive spirit lighting his path, Santa's journey through the county promises to be a heart-warming experience for all the family.

Santa and his team are set to come to Kildare on following dates:

Thursday, December 5- Kilkcock GAA Club at 6pm,

Tuesday, December 10- Spar Prosperous at 6:30pm,

Friday, December 13- Naas Racecourse at 6pm,

Tuesday, December 17- Rathangan at 6:30pm,

Thursday, December 19- Allenwood GFC at 6pm,

Sunday, December 22- Tougher's Restaurant at 6pm.

This is more than just a festive event, it is a chance to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, by having the community come together and share their generosity with those who need it most.

These events were organised by Santa Truck, a beautiful initiative which as now been running for four years.

Each year, the team decide on a new charity to support, with LauraLynn being the chosen one for this year.

Taking to their iDonate page, one of the Santa Truck organisers said, "As many of you know LauraLynn is Ireland's only children's hospice supporting children living with life-limiting conditions from all across Ireland. We have chosen this charity because Christmas is a magical time of year but can also be a very hard, difficult and upsetting time for other people and their families too,

"We feel that LauraLynn provides a fantastic service to families and their children in their time of need. They expanded their hospice service to Cork, Kerry and Limerick since last year. Referral to this service have increased by 100%," they added.

The children's hospice are planning to expand their branches furthermore to the Midlands, West, and Northwest by opening a service in Ballinasloe, Co Galway, so support is very much needed right now.

LauraLynn's service is provided free of charge and means so much to families who wish to spend time creating precious memories.

All proceeds raised will be going directly to the organisation.

So far, an incredible €25,345 has been donated by the people of Ireland, ahead of their €40,000 goal.
