SEARCH CONDUCTED

A garda alleged to a Naas District Court judge that suspected cannabis worth around €7,000 was discovered in County Kildare.

Garda Lisa Boshell made the accusation while speaking to Judge Desmond Zaidan on Thursday, July 25 last.

She claimed that gardaí searched the home of Michael Brennan, with an address listed as 60 Gallowhill in Athy, on July 24 last on foot of a search warrant.

Gda Boshell also told Judge Zaidan that she arrested the 41-year-old and cautioned him in the usual manner.

She added that the accused made no reply after caution, and that he was given a true copy of the charge sheet.

Judge Zaidan adjourned the case to January 16, to allow time for the Director of Public Prosecutions to indicate directions in the case.

He remanded the defendant on continuing bail until the case resumes.
