Tesco staff in Co Kildare set to strike tomorrow

An indefinite strike by staff at Tesco stores looks set to go ahead tomorrow.

The row centres on planned changes to pay and rosters, which will affect around 300 long-serving staff who are on pre-1996 contracts.

A planned strike in 70 of the stores had been due to take place on Monday but was called off to allow for the Workplace Relations Commission talks.

Talks between both sides broke down at the WRC yesterday.

The Manadate Trade Union said it would place pickets on 70 Tesco stores from tomorrow.
