There are no plans to improve one of Kildare's busiest junctions

Kildare County Council says it’s working on other projects
There are no plans to improve one of the busiest traffic junctions in Naas.
A request for Kildare County Council to talk to landowners on the Naas to Sallins Road “to acquire sufficient road space to allow for safe cycle lanes and a continuous flow of traffic that is now restricted and unavailable” was made by Naas Mayor Seamie Moore.
He told a Naas Municipal District meeting that the congestion is because there is a “single traffic lane approach to the Monread Avenue junction from Naas.
But KCC engineer Chris Galvin said there are “currently no plans” for infrastructure along this route.
He also said that other routes within Naas and across the county have been identified on the current work programme and these have been confirmed and agreed with the National
Transport Authority.
He added KCC is “working to deliver these schemes at present.”
