Two Kildare film premieres will be staged this weekend
Frame It Productions (FIP), a film and video production based in Sallins, will host the premieres of two short films at the community centre in Rathangan on January 18 (7.30pm).
Both productions are scripted dramas, all shot in County Kildare with mainly Kildare-based crew and cast.
“On the evening, we’ll be having a wine reception and after the films, we’ll be hosting a chat with the cast and crew,” says Richie Kearney of FIP.
“A lot of local people in Rathangan helped across both films, ranging from extras to catering to locations. Locals became crew members and also cast members during the process so it's a screening and event to thank the community and everyone involved.”
The titles of the films are The Land (directed by Joe Butler), a WW1 action/drama where 2 soldiers are behind enemy lines. The film is supported by Kildare County Council.
While Knoc Knoc (directed by Alan Lawlor), is a drama where a young man is trapped in a room and given various doors to decide his fate.
