Two pedestrian crossings in this Kildare town centre are 'unsafe'

Changes need to be made to how the traffic lights operate at two pedestrian crossings in Naas town centre.

Independent Ireland councillor Bill Clear wants Kildare County Council to review and change  the pedestrians crossing timings at the Naas Library and Cultural Centre and the Bank of Ireland premises.

He called for the removal of the "simultaneous flashing amber person and yellow traffic light" so that more time will be allowed for people to cross the street."

He added: "The current timings are insufficient for older persons and people with disabilities to cross safely."
