Music Generation Laois’s annual Tionól for harp and pipes took place at the weekend from Friday, November 1 to Sunday, November 3 culminating with a closing party in Dunamase College Campus. Tionól Harp and Pipes is an annual festival for young harpers and pipers from County Laois and visiting young musicians. It features music workshops and a livestream concert which took place this year in Portlaoise library. The online performance featured over 170 harpers and pipers from across Ireland, Scotland and Tokyo. Brand new music composed by Scottish musicians Catriona McKay (harp) and Chris Stout (fiddle) was performed by Tionól harpers and pipers and the Music Generation Laois Trad Orchestra. Photographer Alf Harvey was there and captured all the action.
