Accused of stealing television equipment in Laois

A man appeared in court charged in relation to the theft of television equipment from a premises in Laois. 

Ciaran Moore, 34, of 15 Island Lodge, Walsh Island, Offaly is facing 14 theft charges at Free TV, Dublin Road Business Park, Portarlington, Laois on dates between March 2020 and September 2021. 

The charges relate to the alleged theft of Amazon Fire Sticks, mag boxes and security equipment.  

Sgt JJ Kirby told a sitting of Portlaoise District Court that a book of evidence was being prepared. “If you give me a January date the book should be ready,” he said.

A solicitor for the accused asked for legal aid in relation to the case. He explained there were a total of 14 charges. 

Judge Andrew Cody deferred legal aid and put the case back to January 25 so bank statements could be assessed.
