Allegedly had “a very large” amount of drugs in Laois

Gardaí requested some time for DPP directions in a “complex” case of alleged drug possession in Laois. 

James Carroll (45) of 92 Cherrygrove, Portlaoise appeared before Portlaoise District Court accused of possessing cannabis, MDMA and cocaine for sale or supply at his address on June 16, 2024. 

Garda Sergeant JJ told Judge Nicola Andrews that the investigation into the matter was “complex” as he requested more time for DPP directions. He said it was allegedly “a very large sum” of drugs. 

Judge Andrews agreed to adjourn the matter back to Portlaoise District Court on January 20 for DPP directions.
