Appeal issued after tools valued at €15,000 stolen from Laois site
Gardai say the tools were taken from a local authority site in Arles in recent days
Laois Gardaí are appealing for information following the theft of tools valued at around €15,000.
The tools were taken from a number of shipping containers and a shed at a Local Authority site at Maidenhead in Arles between May 1 and May 5, 2026.
Gardaí said consaws, cordless drills, strimmers, a kango hammer, a wacker plate and pole saws were among the items stolen from the compound.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area between those dates.
It’s thought a vehicle would have been needed to remove the tools from the location.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been offered the items for sale or may have seen anything suspicious in the area to contact them. They are also keen to talk to anyone who may have CCTV footage from the area.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100.
