The Irish Aviation Authority(IAA) has announced temporary flight restrictions over Stradbally next week.

The flight restrictions are in place to stop “the flying of aircraft and rockets” in the vicinity of Stradbally Hall from 5am on Wednesday, August 26 to 8am on Tuesday, September 1.

“The purpose of the TRA(Temporary Restricted Area), within which flight restrictions may apply, is to ensure the safety of aircraft operating into and out of the Electric Picnic Music Festival, Stradbally Hall, Stradbally County Laois and of other aircraft operating in the vicinity of the TRA in the period cited,” a notice issued by the IAA stated.

It states that “State aircraft, aircraft of the Irish Coastguard Service and HEMS aircraft employed on an operational mission shall be exempt from the restriction”.

“Subject to any decision by the IAA to the contrary, the airspace within the TRA is restricted

to use by aircraft authorised by the event organisers (EP Republic Ltd),” it adds.
