The woman failed to appear before a sitting of Portlaoise District Court
A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of a woman who failed to appear before court.
Nuala Carroll (32) of 1 The Maisonettes, Quigley Park, Rathdowney, was due to pay compensation for engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour at Haroon Curry House, Moore Street, Rathdowney on September 24, 2024.
The court was told that the case had been listed a number of times to allow her to pay compensation. The court was told that there was an outstanding balance of €250 due.
Explaining her client’s absence, Solicitor Josephine Fitzpatrick said the woman had suffered an injury and was “due back in hospital today”.
Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the case had been marked peremptory against the accused and he requested a bench warrant.
Judge Catherine Ryan granted the bench warrant at the sitting of Portaloise District Court.
