Laois schools pulled off some big wins at the inaugural S.T.E.A.M. showcase event held recently at Portlaoise College by Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board (LOETB). The showcase and awards were the climax of a new S.T.E.A.M. (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Maths) Programme for LOETB schools, where, as part of a partnership with Laois and Offaly County Councils, students in each of the nine LOETB schools were provided with €10,000 of equipment, training and supports in areas around coding, robotics, design, and podcasting.
