Crettyard and Kilcavan eye Leinster Club Football semi-final spots
The Intermediate champions are in Parnell Park while Kilcavan welcome Barcelona to Portlaoise
This weekend is a pivotal one for the Laois Intermediate champions Crettyard and Junior champions Kilcavan as they represent Laois in the quarter-finals of the AIB Leinster Club Football Championships having won their opening rounds in Portlaoise last weekend.
Crettyard got the better of Longford champions Fr Manning Gaels to set up a tie with Dublin champions Naomh Mearnog in Parnell Park. The victory over Fr Manning Gaels saw Crettyard put in a superb performance start to finish and without two of their key players, Evan O'Carroll and Ciaran Burke. Naomh Mearnog defeated Louth opposition in the first round of the provincial championship.
Victory for Crettyard in Parnell Park on Saturday will see them face either Offaly's Clonbullogue or Garrycastle from Westmeath on Saturday, November 23. The Leinster Express/ Laois Live will be providing a live blog from the capital. Tickets for the game can be purchased here while Clubber will also be streaming the game live.

Last weekend, Kilcavan achieved what Crettyard now hopes to do which is defeat a Dublin side in the Leinster Club Championship. Craobh Chiarain made the trip to Laois Hire O'Moore Park but left empty-handed as Kilcavan just about got over the line on a scoreline of 0-5 to 0-4. The half-time score had been two points to nil to the Dublin champions. Kilcavan's second-half performance was immense with a mark from Adam Hunt proving to be the match-winner for the Laois Junior Football champions.
Kilcavan are set for a unique clash this Saturday, taking on Barcelona Gaels in what promises to be a historic encounter in the Leinster Club Junior Football Championship. The Spanish side made headlines last weekend, defeating Conahy Shamrocks in Kilkenny's hallowed Nolan Park to become the first European team to advance in a Leinster competition.
A clash against Wicklow's Aughrim or Meath's Dunsany is to follow should Kilcavan dispatch of their Catalonian opponents in Portlaoise. Tickets for the game can be purchased here while Clubber will also be streaming the game live.
