Desmond (Des) Bredin- Mountrath
The death occurred of Desmond (Des) Bredin of Woodbrook, Mountrath and Arklow, Wicklow on Monday, August 5, 2024.
Formerly Arklow and late of Shannon Street, Mountrath. Peacefully surrounded by his family, at the residence of his Brother and Sister in-law, Predeceased by his parents, Brendan and Nancy Bredin (Derrough). Sadly missed by his brother, sister, sister-in-law, brother in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncle, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbours, his partner Ann and his beloved dog Oscar.

Catherine (Kay) Cullen- Mountmellick
The death occurred of Catherine (Kay) Cullen (née Moran) O’Moore Street, Mountmellick on Monday, August 5, 2024.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful mother Catherine (Kay) Cullen (neé Moran) of O’Moore Street, Mountmellick, Co. Laois, peacefully at home at the age of 97 after a short illness surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by her husband Michael (Mick), son Miceal, her younger brothers, John, Tom, and Eamon. Sadly missed by her devoted children, Loyola, Tom, Pauric, Gemma, Pam, Denise, and Sean, daughters-in-law and sons-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law Eileen Moran, extended family, neighbours, carers, and wide circle of friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Moloney’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, 7th of August, from 5pm to 8pm with Rosary at 7:30pm. Removal from her home at 10:30am on Thursday, the 8th of August, arriving at St. Joseph's Church for funeral mass at 11am after which Kay will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery with her beloved husband Mick.
Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Kay to The Irish Cancer Society Night Nursing Service. Home private Thursday morning before removal please.
Fran (Frank) Naughton- Portarlington/Wicklow/Mayo
The death occurred of Fran (Frank) Naughton of Ballina, Mayo / Portarlington, Laois and Wicklow on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Formerly of Portarlington and Wicklow. Suddenly at his residence in Ballina. Valued teacher at Stella Maris Ballycastle and Gortnar Abbey, Jesus and Mary Secondary School Mayo. Predeceased by his loving parents Frances and Tom. Deeply regretted by his loving brothers and sisters Martin, Brian, Angela, Una and Tom. aunt Catherine, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephew, grandnephew, relatives and friends. Reposing at Maher's Chapel of Rest, Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) on Wednesday evening, 7th August, from 5pm with Rosary at 6pm. Removal on Thursday morning, 8th August, at 9:20am arriving at St Michael's Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael's Cemetery, Portarlington. Fintan Lalor- Portlaoise
The death occurred of Fintan Lalor of the Courthouse, Harper's Lane, Portlaoise on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
Fintan passed unexpectedly at his home. Predeceased by his sister Angie. Dearly loved son of Patrick and Mary. He will be sadly missed by his partner Paula, his brother Daniel, his sisters Maureen and Suzie, brothers-in-law Eamon, Keith and Damien, his nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends. May he Rest in Peace.

Maura Russell- Mackney, Ballinasloe, Co.Galway / Larragan, Clonaslee, Co. Laois.
Maura passed peacefully after a long illness bravely borne surrounded by her loving family in the tender care of Nuala and her staff at Hillside Nursing Home, Aughrim, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway, on the 4th of August, 2024. Counsellor and Psychotherapist and former Director of The Rutland Centre Dublin and Blue Lotus Centre Celbridge.
Predeceased by her parents Tom and Margaret Russell. Maura will be deeply missed by her sisters Margaret (Peg) (London), Catherine (Wicklow), Anne (Athlone) and Patricia (Trish) (Ballinasloe), her brothers Gerard (Larragan, Clonaslee) and T (Killoughey, Tullamore), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and her close friends.
May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.
Maura will repose in the residence of Trish and Joe Hanney, Mackney, Ballinasloe (H53 EV70), on Tuesday the 6th of August, from 5pm to 8pm, with Rosary at 8pm. Private removal on Wednesday morning to St. Manman's Church, Clonaslee, Co.Laois (R32 N6E5), arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by private cremation afterwards.

Rita Conroy (née Maher) - Beladd, Portlaoise, Laois, / Rathoe, Carlow
The death has occurred of Rita Conroy, Beladd Portlaoise on August 3rd 2024. Peacefully at home in the care of her family. Predeceased by her husband Noel. Dearly loved mother to Colette, Angela, Michael and Emer. Cherished grandmother to Alison, Craig, and David. Much loved daughter in law Maria, and son in law Michael. Sadly missed by her sister Mary, brothers Michael and Austin. Extended family and friends.

Reposing at her family home on Monday from 4 pm till 8 pm. Rosary at 8 pm. Removal from her house in Tuesday to arrive at SS Peter and Pauls Church for 12 noon requiem mass.
