The space was requested at a recent council meeting

A request for a disabled parking space in Stradbally is to be assessed.

Fianna Fail Cllr Paschal McEvoy requested the space in a motion at a recent meeting.

He asked: “That this Council provide a Invalidity Parking Bay outside the Muse House at Main Street,  Stradbally.”

In response, Senior Executive Engineer,  Philip McVeigh, said “Laois County Council will arrange to meet with the Elected Member on site to identify the area and to carry out an assessment for this request.”

The motion was supported by Independent Cllr Ben Brennan.

Independent Cllr Aidan Mullins said the council always responded well in relation to requests for parking spaces for the disabled or elderly.

The matter was discussed during the latest meeting of Portarlington Graiguecullen Municipal District.
