A driver who wasn’t used to a narrow road panicked, hit a ditch and crashed into another car.

James Lynch (31) of 4 Donard Park, Cabra, Dublin 7 was convicted of driving without due consideration at Corrig, Stradbally on September 3, 2023.

Garda Sergeant JP O’Brien said he attended a traffic collision between a 231D black opel Corsa and a 181D registered vehicle.

He said the defendant wasn’t used to the narrow road and “panicked, clipped a high ditch and went sideways” before colliding with the other vehicle.  He said the driver was unfamiliar with the road.

Judge Andrew Cody fined the man a total of €750 at a sitting of Portlaoise District Court.
