Electric Picnic announces its own Eco campsite after BYEco provider pulls out

Melvin Benn - 'Eco camping at Electric Picnic 2025 will be at least as big'
Electric Picnic has announced that it will offer its own clean eco friendly campsite, after the hosts of the BYEco campsite unexpectedly pulled out last week.
Festival Republic managing director Melvin Benn has issued a statement following BYEco Campsite's announcement.
“Eco camping is not dependent on a sole provider and there will 100% be a free-to-use Eco camping option, as there is at all of the Festival Republic camping festivals.
"Eco camping at Electric Picnic 2025 will be at least as big, and at least as good if not better than anything that has been provided in the past. This is something that we are hugely committed to," Mr Benn stated.
BYEco had made their shock announcement on September 10, to many disappointed reactions by campers.
It followed a statement by them that their clean site had been "destroyed" by other Electric Picnic campsite waste that blew in after the festival ended.
The cordoned off Eco campsite at Electric Picnic was free to use, booked out each year, and had environmentally friendly rules to keep it spotlessly clean.
The business now intends to host its own festival.
"Despite our best efforts, we've been unable to expand the campsite to meet its growing popularity, and we feel we've taken BYEco Camp as far as possible within the festival. We're excited to share that we are planning our own independent event.
"Over the past 10 years, we've had the privilege of building an incredible community of eco-conscious campers like yourselves. Together, we showed that festivals don't have to contribute to mass waste, and we proved that waste separation can work, even in a festival environment," they said.
BYEco invite the public to subscribe to their mailing list to receive further updates.
