A decision has yet to be made in relation to how a prosecution will proceed in the case of a man accused of assault at the Electric Picnic last year.

Brandon Brennan, 20, with an address at 11 Ardrew Meadows, Athy, Kildare appeared before a sitting of Portlaoise District Court. He is charged with assault causing harm at Electric Picnic on September 2, 2022.

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said DPP directions were awaited in the case. He described the allegation as “borderline” between a Section 3 assault causing harm or the more serious Section 4 assault causing harm.

“We are looking for a couple of weeks,” Sgt Kirby told Judge Andrew Cody.

Judge Andrew Cody remanded the case back to Portlaoise District Court on September 14.
