Electric Picnic Eco campsite organisers make shock announcement

The ByEco campsite offered a quieter, cleaner option to campers at no extra cost

Electric Picnic campers who like staying in the super clean BYEco campsite are in a dither this evening after its organisers announced "it's time to lift BYEco out of EP and plant it in its own field and grow it as a true authentic REAL festival".

The campsite did not charge any extra fee to stay in, but had to booked ahead on a first come, first served basis. Campers were given rules to follow to keep it environmentally friendly, with lots of recycling points and communal dance, food, yoga and therapy zones.

The BYEco Campsite made the following announcement on Tuesday, September 10, sharing a video that shows how clean their grounds were left after some campers left.

"A fun view of BYEco Campsite on the Sunday after a few folk have packed up.

We have built this community over a number of years and well you have become like family x

Its time to lift BYEco out of EP and plant it in its own field and grow it as a true authentic REAL festival xx"

Two days ago they had stated that the wind blew litter from other campsites into theirs this year after the festival ended, promising "some big changes".

"Hey Guys, I just want to say what an amazing year this was. Such a lovely bunch of campers. And great weather. The wind at the end left our spotless campsite destroyed by pop up tents and litter. The wind was so strong it blew the litter for miles. The clean up job must have taken so long !!

"We will keep you updated on what’s ha[pending with our campsite, as we are going to be making some big changes.

Thank you for all your support over the years you really have made the campsite what it is, thank you all so much.

have a great up and coming Equinox," BYEco said.

The latest announcement has been met with dismay by supporters.

"Totally gutted if you're gone from the picnic... Great community and place to be. Wish you the very best," one said.
