End of the road for Knockbeg College in Leinster Championship

Naas CBS disposed of Chris Conway’s side in Carlow
Knockbeg College’s Leinster campaign has been brought to an end after Naas CBS showed why they’re reigning Leinster champions in a dominant display in SETU Carlow this afternoon.
Naas dominated from start to finish with Knockbeg unable to get any scoring momentum throughout the contest.
Naas CBS 1-13
Knockbeg College 0-6
It was Knockbeg’s Ennae Byrne who opened the scoring as he split the posts within the first 60 seconds. That would be Knockbeg’s only score for quite some time as Naas fired over eight scores on the bounce all from play. Tom Kelly and Daniel Hamill kicked over Naas’ first two scores before Evan Gilmartin pointed after six minutes to leave it three points to one in favour of the Kildare school.
Gilmartin would raise two further white flags along with Hamill and Kelly also getting a point each. AJ Jordan also put the ball over the black spot as Naas led 0-8 to 0-1.
Knockbeg replied with two scores of their own as Byrne pointed for the second time while Jeremy Kelly pointed a free. Brian Hoctor and Alex Lenehan scored before the end of the half as Naas went into the break leading by seven points, 0-10 to 0-3.
Cialan Brady popped over a free for Knockbeg before Naas got a penalty. Gilmartin was fouled in the square with Cathal McCarthy stepping up to send Sean Browne the wrong way. Tom Kelly pushed Nqas 10 points ahead after 35 minutes played.
Ennae Byrne and Ruaidhri Lawlor added a point each for Knockneg but it was goals that Chris Conway’s side needed and they weren’t coming. Jack Kelly and Dara Cooke got the game’s final two points as Naas ran out worthy winners in the end to seal their place in the Leinster semi-final.
It was a step too far for Knockneg unfortunately but their army of supporters cheered them on with their chanting and singing from first minute until last.
