Fix bridge on Laois road used for Pieta House charity walk

A bridge on a busy Laois walking route in south Laois needs repair, Laois County Council has been told.
Cllr Conor Bergin wants action at Cahir Cross, Borris-in-Ossory as soon as possible. He wants the bridge wall to be fixed.
He said the community of Borris-in-Ossory had organised a charity walk for Pieta House on the route last year as it is popular with walkers including himself.
Mr. Edmond Kenny, District Engineer, told the Fine Gael representative that he would be updated on the structure’s condition after a bridge inspection is undertaken.
The issue was raised at the Borris-in-Osory Mountmelllick Municipal District Meeting in November.
