Further information submitted on plans for 22 new houses in Portlaoise

Laois County Council has been provided with further information from a developer who plans to build 22 houses in Portlaoise. 

Dargan Woods Devco Ltd sought planning permission for the houses on a site at Dargan Woods, Borris Road in the townland of Borris Great, Portlaoise. 

The plans consisted of the construction of 22 houses including one detached four bedroom house, 12 semi-detached four bedroom houses and nine terraced three bedroom houses. The development includes an access road and footpaths, public lighting, water servicing including foul and storm water, landscaping and all ancillary site works. 

Laois County Council requested further information in relation to issues including the density of the development, Electric Vehicle charging, a road safety audit and lighting. 

“Significant Further Information/Revised Plans have been furnished to the planning authority in respect of this proposed development, and are available for inspection or purchase at the offices of the authority during its public opening hours,” a notice published in relation to application states.   

Submissions or observations can be made within the period of two weeks beginning on the date of receipt by the authority of the revised newspaper and site notices.
