Green light to allow Emo Court gate lodge to be Airbnb rental

A gate lodge at Emo Court in Laois has received retention planning permission to be used as a short term rental home for tourists, after it was already being done without permission.
The Gate Lodge at the main entrance to the publically owned demesne has been used as a rental on Airbnb for several years.
Laois County Council planners have this month given the green light to applicant Eamon Delaney, to retain his change of use from a dwelling house to tourism accommodation to include tourist short term letting, corporate letting and all associated site works at the gate lodge.
The stone building is listed on the Record of Protected Structures under RPS 981.
