Huge prize for Laois artist

Laois based artist Evgeny Chubatyy has been awarded the prestigious Salaski Award at the Chelsea Art in London.
He was presented with the Sculpture Award at the 75th Annual Exhibition in London which runs from June 13 to June 17.
The Laois Arts office says the esteemed prize was awarded to Evgeny for his work 'Transformation of Sphere' which was first exhibited in Laois.
The slate sculpture was found to showcase a high level of conceptuality and technical skill, blending aesthetics with profound conceptual and philosophical reflections.
"Transformation of Sphere" is a sculpture made of slate, distinguished by its high level of craftsmanship. The work explores ideas of multidimensional space and philosophical reflections on the nature of reality. The sculpture raises questions about what we see and what remains beyond our perception, inviting viewers to contemplate the true nature of the world, which we may not always fully grasp.

The Slaski Sculpture Award was established to encourage and recognize exceptional achievements in sculpture. Named in honor of its founder, the award aims to support talented artists and promote their work internationally.
The Laois Arts Office at Laois County Council has championed and supported Evgeny. Muireann Ní Chonaill, Laois Arts Officer said, the Office recognises and appreciates his considerable talent and all he has done to enrich the arts in Laois.
"We congratulate Evgeny on this award," she said.
The prize-winning piece was first exhibited in Evgeny Chubatyy’s, solo show last September as part of Culture Night in the Laois Arthouse, Stradbally.
