Sellout arts event to include Stardust survivor, at The Pantry, Portlaoise

Following two sold out events in recent years, a hugely popular arts evening in Portlaoise is returning this June.

If The Walls Had Ears, a spoken word and music evening, will return to The Pantry restaurant's Walled Garden, Portlaoise on Thursday June 13 at 7.30pm.

Curated by Laois broadcaster Ann Marie Kelly, this year's event will feature various contributors and musicians built around the theme: Instructions on not giving up.

Speakers this year include the Stardust survivor and campaigner for justice, Antoinette Keegan, the Irish African poet and performer Dagogo Hart, who recently appeared on RTE's The Tommy Tiernan Show.

Dr Noel Kavanagh, a lecturer in Philosophy at Carlow College, St. Patrick's will also give a talk, as will popular local Abbeyleix writer Helen Lalor.

Music on the night will be provided by The Lost Leaves (Hubert Murray, Dubh Lee, and David Harte).

Tickets priced €20 are available from Eventbrite only and are extremely limited, so early booking for the event is strongly advised.

More information can be found on the event's Facebook page.
