Killenard's K26 project reached its glamorous conclusion with a special Film Awards Night at The Heritage Hotel on Sunday, October 25. More than 500 people attended the black-tie event, where the finished productions from the ambitious community fundraiser were shown on the big screen. Seven iconic films and television series were recreated by local actors, including Forrest Gump, which won both Best Film and People's Choice. Robbie McNeill, Shane Brennan, Alvina Tynan and Courtney Finlay were among those recognised, while Into the West won Best Costume and Best Location. The project has raised more than €100,000 for Killenard Community Centre and O'Dempsey's GFC.
