The art in many different media gives an insight into each student's minds as they face challenges and progressions through life and school.

Their art teacher Ruth Williams describes the exhibition as expressive, and invites everybody to come and view it.

"Moving Forward is an exhibition of work created and curated by sixth year students in Mountmellick Community School. These students range in age from fifteen to eighteen years old.

"The work in this show explores a range of disciplines, from painting and drawing to print-making and mixed-media sculpture. The art students have applied these mediums to explore the theme of ‘Moving Forward’ within their lives independently and as part of the school community.

"Challenged to envisage life as they progress from school and what this looks like for them, this concept is depicted through colour, symbolism, experimentation, imagery and text. The students have produced exceptional work and we hope you visit and enjoy this expressive collection of artwork," Ms Williams said.
