18. Hugh Sheppard, MC Marty's Singing Club, presents Seamus O'Donoghue, Chairman of Laois Hospice Foundation with a cheque for €4,032.55 in March 2006. The club regularly raised funds for charity with €26,000 raised for Laois Hospice in the five years to 2006 wihch included €8,443 raised from from the 'Dawn of Durrow' CD which was recorded in 2005. On the right is Mary Donoghue who collects the donations at the singing sessions.

19. At the 2006 Laois INTO Handwriting Competition, winning prizes were collected by winners in Category B winners: 1st Prize: Oisín Morrin, Scoil Aonghusa, Stradbally, 2nd Prize: Margaret Oxley, Scoil Aonghusa, Stradbally and 3rd Prize: Clodagh Brogan, Emo NS.
